Chiropractic treatment is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. Chiropractors believe that these disorders can affect general health via the nervous system. The primary method of chiropractic treatment is manual manipulation or adjustment of the spine.

Spinal Adjustment
Chiropractors use their hands or specialized tools to apply controlled force to a joint of the spine. The goal is to correct structural alignment and improve joint function.
Holistic Approach
Chiropractors often take a holistic approach to healthcare, considering lifestyle factors, diet, and exercise in addition to spinal adjustments.
Licensing and Regulation
Chiropractors undergo specific training and must be licensed in most countries or states. However, the level of regulation and the scope of practice can vary.
Philosophy
Chiropractic care is based on the belief that proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure will enable the body to heal itself without the need for medication or surgery. Chiropractors often refer to this as facilitating the body’s “innate intelligence.
Conditions Treated
Chiropractors commonly treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain. Some chiropractors may also provide additional therapies such as massage, exercises, and nutritional advice.
Evidence and Controversy
The effectiveness of chiropractic treatment is a subject of debate. While some studies suggest benefits for certain conditions, the scientific community has raised concerns about the lack of robust evidence for the effectiveness of chiropractic care, particularly for non-musculoskeletal conditions.
Although chiropractic care is unlikely to produce miracles, we do see exceptional outcomes from patients who follow our protocols. Most patients visit us for a short series of treatment ending with a tailored plan to prevent recurrence or flare ups.
